Bio: Flat Classroom Certified and Microsoft Innovative Teacher, have worked with Julie and Vicki in Flat Classroom Projects for the past five years with my high school classes being in a NetGenEd Project as well as Flat Classroom Projects 10-2, 10-3, and 11-2. Currently, I am teaching pre-service teachers and we have become involved in FCP as expert advisors and now in Eracism with VoiceThread and other roles. We presented our experiences in F.L.A.T.S. as well as at the Global Education Conference 2011. My blog and College website.

Role: Lead Teachers
  • Carl Pfahl - I am a business/technology education student at Red River College taking the five-year after-degree program. I have 5 years of work experience in retail management along with a Diploma in Business Administration, with a major in Marketing. Currently, I working on completing my Bachelor of Education with a double major in Business Technology, and History
  • Taryn Fenwick - I am student at Red River College, in the Business/Technology Teacher Education Program, I have experience in both the retail and accounting business fields, and many years of learning at both the University of Manitoba and Red River College. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Environment, with a Major in Geography, and a double minor in History and Canadian Studies. I have also obtained my Account Certificate from Red River College.
  • Sheldon Hamp - I am a pre-service teacher enrolled in the Business Technology Teacher Education program through Red River College. Since receiving my Bachelor of Commerce degree, I have worked for a number of years in the accounting field, and more recently completed my Educational Assistant diploma to gain some valuable experience prior to my entry into the teaching profession where my true passions lie.
  • Kate Hallett - 4th Year Business/techology education student at Red River College and University of Winnipeg joint degree program with a second teachable in English literature; Career Trek Business, Political Science and Criminal Law instructor; 3 years experience as a retail management; 2 years of study at the UniversitĂ© de St. Boniface with a focus on French grammar and English literature.
  • Jennifer Kasprick - I am an After-Degree Business/Technology Education student at Red River College. Following my prior university degree, with a major in business, I worked for an international accounting firm and for municipal government in rural Manitoba, Canada.
  • Dylan Power - I am a 4th year Business/Technology Education student through the RRC/University of WInnipeg joint program. I am a student athlete at Red River College, playing for the men's volleyball team. Technology/business has been a large part of my life, I have several years of experience in both areas.


Steve Madsen

Role: Worked on the the specific responsibilities of the debaters (speaker 1 affirmative, speaker 1 negative, etc), the modification of the judging mechanisms, the recruitment of judges, the probable assistance with co-ordination of judges and all-round assistant.

Marcia Alessi

Role: Working as an advisor on debating format, judge training and scoring rubric, and overall coordination of 2012 Eracism Project. Participated in the 2009 Eracism Project as advisor as well as a teacher/coach for a competing team.
